Psalms (OT 205): An exegetical and theological examination of the major types of Psalms. Special attention is given to the importance of the psalmic material for the contemporary understanding of worship. Monday and Wednesday, 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Taught by Arthur Hainrick, Th.M.

 

Preaching Practicum (PT 203): A study of the communication aspects of a sermon. The delivery and content of each student’s sermons are evaluated by various techniques including peer group appraisal. Monday and Wednesday, 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Taught by Komber Kumo, M.A.

Marriage and Family (PT 206): A practical study of the Biblical view of the family, giving particular attention to the preparation for Christian marriage and family life. Monday and Wednesday, 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Taught by Mrs. Dorothea Rauchholz, M.A.

 

Cults (HT 201): A study of the history and teachings of the major cults which may be contacted in Micronesia. Emphasis is on practical methods to prepare Christians to identify and reject the errors in cultic teachings. Tuesday and Thursday, 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Taught by Roland Rauchholz, D.Missiology.

 

New Testament History (NT 101): A survey of the intertestamental period, the first three gospels, and the Book of Acts. This study enables students to become familiar with the events surrounding the incarnation of Christ, including the establishment of His church. Tuesday and Thursday, 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Taught by Komber Kumo, M.A.

 

Bible Introduction (BI 101): A study of the production, preservation and transmission of the Bible, including principles of interpretation, the role of biblical archaeology, and a survey of Bible lands. Friday, 6:30 - 9:30 pm. Taught by Roland Rauchholz, D.Missiology.

 

Missions (HT 205): A survey of the biblical theology and history of Christian missions. Students develop an understanding of the relationship of Christian missions to the redemptive purpose of God, and the factors which influence the effectiveness of missionary work. This should serve to motivate students to promote missions in their churches. Saturday, 8:30 am - 12:00 noon. Taught by Roland Rauchholz, D.Missiology.

The PIBC Extension Program is administered from Fais Village on the island of Weno, Chuuk, in the Federated States of Micronesia. Extension courses are taught at this location, which is complete with a Christian book store. Extension courses are also scheduled for Palau and Yap, and planned for Pohnpei and the Marshall Islands.
